The future resort is located within the La Pavona estate, a unique setting characterised by the fayal-brezal forest that defines the eastern slopes of La Palma, where the trade winds create a mild and stable microclimate throughout the year.
The proposal rethinks the original conventional golf resort model, placing the estate’s forest resources and the municipality’s agricultural and livestock traditions at the centre of the project. This shift in approach redefines the visitor experience, linking tourism to wellbeing, nature and local products.
The masterplan is organised into six accommodation clusters, or “caseríos”, carefully integrated into the landscape and comprising approximately one hundred rooms each. These “caseríos” are concentrated within the interior of the estate and connected through agricultural paths and sustainable mobility systems, including bicycles and electric carts. The main access is located along the perimeter and takes the form of a “cortijo”, accommodating shared facilities, markets and workshops associated with local crafts and production.
The project also incorporates an agroecology centre equipped with a seed bank, serving both residents and visitors. The proposal promotes a regenerative tourism model rooted in the local community, with a low landscape impact and based on the circular and efficient management of water, waste and energy resources.
